Press Trust of India Chapra (WB)
A pall of gloom descended at Jamridanga in Nadia district today as news of the death of Dipak Ghosh, one of the 10 CRPF commandos killed in an encounter with Naxals on the border areas of Gaya and Aurangabad district, trickled in.

"I have heard that my son Dipak was killed by Mao bombing in Bihar... " said 70 year-old Charubala Ghosh, mother of Dipak Ghosh as tears rolled down her cheek.

Neighbours gathered at Dipak's modest home to console mother Charubala, Dipak's wife, elder brother, sister-in-law and other members of family.

Dipak's father Nepal Ghosh had expired a few years back.

Local MLA Rukbanoor Rahaman visited their home.

He will be cremated with a guard of honour tomorrow, the MLA said.

The commandos of CRPF's COBRA unit were ambushed in the IED blast triggered by Naxals near Chakarbanda-Dumarinala forests on the borders of Gaya and Aurangabad yesterday after which an encounter started yesterday in which three Naxals were also killed.

While eight CRPF personnel were killed on the spot, two others succumbed to the injuries later.
