Superintendent of Police C Sudhakar said CRPF jawan Yudhistir Mahato was at his home in Mukundapur village under Joynagar block of the district last night when some dacoits entered his house and tried to loot.
Mahato resisted the dacoits from looting his house and the dacoits attacked him with sharp edged weapons killing him, the SP said.
The police have started an inquiry into the incident, the SP added.
