CRPF officers hangs self in Odisha

A CRPF officer, facing a vigilance probe, was today found dead in his room at a camp of the paramilitary force here.

Officials said an AssistantCommandant-rank officer of CRPF, identified as R D Meena (47), allegedly hanged himself in his room in the Group Centre of Central Reserve Police Force in Nayapalli area here.

The officer hailed from Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, they said adding he was facing a vigilance inquiry.

They said Meena hailed from the 8th battalion of the force and a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of his taking the extreme step.
