Crude palm oil prices fell by 0.28 per cent to Rs 639.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid fall in demand at the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in July eased by Rs 1.80, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 639.90 per 10 kg, in a business turnover of 224 lots.

The oil contract for August was trading lower by Rs 1.20, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 639 per 10 kg in two lots.

Analysts said apart from weak global cues, profit-booking

by speculators at prevailing levels and a fall in demand at spot

market weighed on crude palm oil prices at futures trade here.
