A Superintendent of Customs and Central Excise was arrested by CBI allegedly while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 for issuing a document.
S D Ingole, Superintendent, Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax (Nanded Ranage), was yesterday arrested and booked under Prevention of Corruption Act, a release from the Anti- Corruption Unit of CBI (Nagpur) said today.
Ingole had demanded a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a person for issuing him permanent Service Tax Registration number. After negotiation, he reduced the bribe amount to Rs 1,500, it said.

The person agreed to pay the amount and lodged a complaint with Nagpur unit of the central agency, it said.
After registering a case, CBI sleuths arrested Ingole while accepting the bribe from the complainant in his office in Nanded, about 330 km from here, it said.
Searches were later conducted at office and residence of Ingole at Nanded and Aurangabad, respectively, during which various incriminating documents were seized and they are being scrutinised, it said.
