Central Customs personnel seized 18,000 tablets of Methamphetamine in Mizoram-Myanmar border Champhai town and arrested a Myanmarese national.
Customs officials estimated the contraband, seized yesterday, valued at Rs 18 lakh while state excise and narcotics department officials said that one tablet of the Methamphetamine was usually sold at the rate of Rs 250 in Aizawl,
Thangkhanpau (60) of Tiddim, Myanmar was arrested in this connection and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, the officials said.
The Customs officials were helped by the Assam Rifles and Intelligence Bureau officials.
