Cyberabad Police seize two elephant tusks

Cyberabad Police today arrested three persons at Green Fields Colony here and seized two pieces of carved elephant tusks worth Rs 1 crore in the international market.

Based on credible information, sleuths of Special Operation Team, nabbed K V Suryanarayana Raju, a businessman, M Phaninder, CEO of Transtech Software Solutions at SR Nagar here and N Arvind Kumar, a real estate broker, while they were found in possession of two carved elephant tusks brought from Visakhapatnam, police said.

"They got the tusks from one VKS Chandra Bose, (who is absconding), and were looking for prospective customers in Hyderabad to sell it. The trio were booked under relevant sections of The Wild Life (Protection) Act 1972," a release from Cyberabad Police said.
