Dacoits loot, injure elderly house-owner

An elderly man was attacked with sharp weapons by dacoits today when he tried to oppose them as they looted his house at Baruipur in South 24-Parganas district.

The police said 55-year-old Duranta Majumdar was injured when he was attacked with sharp weapons early this morning at Kalikapur village.

The dacoits looted cash, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh from Majumdar's house.
