Dalit girl raped in Ballia

A 20-year-old Dalit girl was

allegedly raped by her neighbour at Narhi police station area here, police said today.

The accused, living in the girl's neighbourhood, called her yesterday on the pretext of going to a wedding ceremony, following which he raped her, K C Goswami, Additional Superintendent of Police said.

An FIR has been lodged by the victim's brother and the accused has been arrested, the ASP said.
