Dalit youth thrashed to death in UP

A dalit youth was allegedly beaten to death by three persons over old enmity in Basiri village here, police said today.

21-year-old Pushpender was thrashed on Saturday by Kailash, Ravi and Govind after they took him to a nearby forest. He succumbed to his injuries last evening, police said.

Victim's brother Kapil lodged a complaint following which a case was registered against the three, police said, adding, efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
