Former soccer star David Beckham has debuted on the photo sharing site Instagram, with a black-and-white close-up picture of himself and a thanking post for his fans, who wished him on his 40th birthday.
"Good morning and hello! It's great to finally be on Instagram, been a long time coming but I can't wait to start sharing all my special moments with you.
"Thank you for all your birthday messages so far. Looking forward to a great day with friends and family x (sic)" he captioned the photo, where he is seen lying on his bed.
Beckham hosted a 250,000 pound luxury anniversary celebration at a six-star resort just outside Marrakech, Morocco.
His wife Victoria is an avid fan of Instagram, most recently taking to the site to share a photograph of her and David in front of a private plane.
