A dawn to dusk bandh was observed in this town today demanding immediate arrest of culprits who attacked Odisha's Tourism and Law minister Maheswar Mohanty on Saturday.
Shops and commercial establishment were closed in response to a call given by traders to protest the attack on the local MLA.
The traders' body took out a procession from Singhadwara (Lions gate) of the Shri Jagannath temple.
The shutdown put tourists and visitors in trouble as even eating joints remained closed.
Meanwhile, the doctors attending Mohanty at a private hospital here said that he was out of danger but likely to remain in ICU for one more day.
