Day temperatures plunged in Rajasthan where the maximum is ranging from 2 to 6 degrees above normal due to winds blowing from the west.
Heat wave conditions also prevailed in some parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner division where the day temperature was 5-6 degrees above normal.
Today, Barmer was recorded as the hottest place with a maximum of 43 degree Celsius followed by Jaisalmer and Bikaner where the day temperatures were 41.8 and 41 degrees Celsius respectively.
Jodhpur, Churu, Kota, Ajmer, Dabok and Jaipur also recorded maximum of 40.8, 40.7, 40, 39.5, 39.2 and 38.7 degrees respectively.
Accoring to a MeT department official, such high temperatures in the month of March are due to winds blowing from the west.
The heat wave conditions are likely to continue in Jodhpur and Bikaner over the next 24 hours, the official said.
