Dead dolphin washed ashore

A four foot long Dolphin was washed ashore at a fishing hamlet near Tarangambadi in this district, officials said today.

Officials said fishermen of Thazhampettai hamlet sighted the dead dolphin yesterday and informed the authorities concerned.

Local fishermen feel the dolphin might have been hit by a fishing boat or smashed against a rock, got badly injured and died.
