Cable TV operators in the Union Territory have been directed to adopt the 'digital addressable system' before the end of this year, shifting from analog system of transmission.
In a release here, District Collector D. Manikandan said that the switchover was required to be done before the deadline in keeping with the notification issued by the Centre on November 11, 2011.
Action would be taken under the Cable TV Networks (Regulations) Rules 1995 against any cable television operator failing to adhere to the deadline to adopt digitisation of cable television transmission in all the municipal limits in Union Territory, he said.
