Delhiities experience chilly day

It was a chilly day in the national capital today with shallow foggy conditions in the morning that delayed 55 trains while 29 others were rescheduled.

The minimum temperature settled at 8.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year while the maximum temperature was pegged at 21.6 degrees, a notch below the season's average, a MeT Department official said.

The visibility was recorded at 1500 metres at Safdarjung at 5.30 AM. It significantly dropped to 400 meters at 8.30 AM but improved to 1500 meters at 11.30 AM.

At Palam, visibility was 500 metres at 8.30 AM and improved beyond 1500 metres at 11.30 AM, the official said.
 

According to a Railways spokesperson, 55 trains were delayed while 29 others were rescheduled.

Though flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport were normal, airport officials said.

The weatherman has predicted mainly clear skies for tomorrow with mist to shallow fog in the morning.

"Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 22 and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively," the weatherman said.

Yesterday, the minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 7.9 degrees Celsius and 24.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
