Dera followers protest remarks against sect head on facebook

Followers of Dera Sacha Sauda sect today sat on a dharna and blocked traffic on Ludhiana- Ferozepur road here for over eight hours, seeking arrest of a youth for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the sect head on a social networking site.

According to the protesters, the youth had made "defamatory remarks" on a photo of Dera chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh on facebook recently.

The agitators lifted the dharna after Deputy Commissioner of Police Harsh Bansal assured them that the accused would be arrested within 24 hours.
