Designer installations based on ideas and themes such as feminism, infinity and nature are a delight for the visitors at the India Design week exhibition here.

Vibhor Sogani's art installation conceptualising nature in the form of a 'dandelion' flower is one of the major highlights at the exhibition.

Made up of steel, the illuminated dandelions drew maximum crowds with people flocking the area curious to know its price.

"I made this two months back. This is a new installation," says Sogani, the man who created the steel 'sprouts' at the AIIMS flyover here.

"The steel 'sprouts' are not complete yet. Lighting on them has to be done," he said.

"I am a nature lover. That is why I have worked on 'sprouts', 'lotus', 'ferns', and now 'dandelions'," he added.

Studio Vibhor Sogani is one of the first design studios to create a mark in the lighting industry worldwide.

"I am an abstract artist. These are just flashes of images which come to my mind," says Sogani who has been in the profession for two decades.

Another installation conceptualising women power and feminism, named 'Steel magnolia', was also exhibited here.

Colourful ropes representing femininity encircled around strong steel pillars symbolically showcase the empowerment of women.

"The concept tells us how women are emerging today and how they are getting emboldened. Also, when it comes to home decor items, it is the women who take the final decisions," says Amit Syngle, President, Asian Paints which came up with the themes.
