Dharmarajya Party today announced its candidate for the Thane Lok Sabha seat, setting the stage for a multi-cornered contest in the constituency.
Social worker and environmentalist Niteen Deshpande would be the party's nominee from Thane, Dharmarajya Party chief Rajan Raje said at a press conference here.
Raje, who unsuccessfully contested the 2009 election from here on MNS ticket, hoped Deshpande will set support from all sections of the society, given his work in the field of social work and environment.

To a question, Raje said efforts were on to get anti- corruption crusader Anna Hazare to campaign for the Dharmarajya Party nominee.
Deshpande is the fifth prominent candidate in the fray. The others are Sanjeev Naik, the sitting MP of NCP, Rajan Vichare of Shiv Sena-BJP combine, Sanjiv Sane of Aam Aadmi Party and Abhijit Panse of MNS.
