Dial-100 service to be launched soon : Akhilesh

Under opposition attack over law and order, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav today said his government is working with full sincerity to further improve the situation and the 'dial 100' services for police assistance will be started all over the state soon.
"By starting dial-100 service all over the state it will be ensured that police reaches the scene of crime in 15 to 20 minutes", Yadav, who is also the Home minister, said while taking part in the debate on home and general administration departments in the legislative assembly.
"Government is continuously working on the law and order front and whenever and wherever any incident comes to its notice, it takes immediate and adequate steps ", he said.

"Though incidents cannot be stopped from taking place, police has been taking prompt steps in all the cases", he said.
Citing various cases, he said one has to have faith in police and other such institutions.
Making a light-hearted remark on BSP, he said that during the Congress-led government it were the SP (leaders) which were being harassed while now it it the turn of BSP (leaders).
Referring to the achievements of his government in the past four years, Yadav said investments have increased and development works were going on and this is a result of improvement in law and order situation.
Earlier leader of opposition and BSP member Swami Prasad Maurya alleged that government has lost its hold and goonda and mafia elements were ruling the roost.
Government should rise above party politics and personal relations on issues concerning law and order, Maurya said.
On the Justice Vishnu Sahay Commission report on Muzaffarnagar riots, Maurya alleged that it appears to have been constituted to wash the blots on the Samajwadi Party government.
Although the report holds officials and administration responsible it gives a clean chit to the SP government, Maurya added.
Suresh Khanna of the BJP also raised a question mark on the Sahay commission report.
