Reacting over senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot's statement after the party's defeat in Dholpur by-election, Rajasthan Congress Chief Sachin Pilot today said the party 'didn't lose to BJP but to the state government'.
Pilot said, "I am repeating my words that we did not lose election to the BJP but to the state government, which used its machinery to win the election".
Pilot was reacting over a statement by Gehlot, who had said the party lost Dholpur by-election due to over confidence.
"He is a senior party leader and I take all his statements and advices seriously", said Pilot.
However, he did not answer whether he agrees on Gehlot's statement.
It is to be noted that Gehlot's son is incharge of Dholpur constituency, which is a stronghold of Mali community that Gehlot also belongs to.
