The ban imposed on hookah lounges in Indore has been extended to August 7 by the district administration, it was announced here today.
The ban was imposed under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code and those found to be violating it would be punished accordingly, district administration sources said.
The ban was imposed for the first time in May 2011 on the basis of a Health Department report that these lounges adversely affect the health of a large number of youth in the city.
