DMK cadres wear coats made of mosquito net

In order to draw the authorities' attention to the increasing mosquito menace, some DMK youth wing workers today arrived at the district collectorate here wearing coats made of mosquito net.

Being a grievances day meeting, the workers came to submit a petition to Collector T N Hariharan, seeking immediate measures to prevent mosquito menace, reason for spread of various types of fever, including dengue.

Led by party district secretary, 'Kottai' Abbas, they alleged that the area in and around the government hospital and Ukkadam, particularly Kottaimedu, was becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes, where garbage was dumped in the open and ditches remained uncleaned.
