DMK legislator assumes office as PIPDIC Chairman

: DMK legislator R Siva today assumed charge as chairman of the Puducherry government owned Industries Development Corporation (PIPDIC).

DMK is an alliance partner of the ruling Congress and has two legislators in the 30 member House.

A Geetha, the other DMK legislator elected from Neravy T R Pattinam constituency in Karaikalhad already assumed office as chairman of Puducherry Power Corporation Limited last week.

Three ruling Congress legislators T Jayamoorthy (from Ariyankuppam), M N R Bhalan (Uzhavarkarai) and E Theepanjan (from Oussudu reserved) also assumed office as chairmen of the Puducherry Planning Authority, Puducherry Tourism Development Corporation and Puducherry Slum Clearance Board today.
 

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and his cabinet colleagues were among those who greeted the new incumbents today.

Two other Congress legislators V Vijayaveny (Nettapakkam reserved) and N Dhanavelu (Bahoor) had assumed office as chairmen of Puducherry Government owned distilleries limited and Civil Supplies Corporation (PAPSCO) respectively last week.

Siva was elected from Orleanpet constituency in the May 16 Assembly polls here.
