Doctor Strange thrilling gig to get: Benedict Cumberbatch

'Sherlock' star Benedict Cumberbatch is excited to get into the shoes of Dr Strange.

The actor was announced as the title character for the movie by Marvel last week.

"It's a thrilling gig to get - I just can't wait," Cumberbatch told Hey U Guys at the 2014 British Independent Film Awards.

The actor was nominated for best actor for 'Imitation Game' but lost to Calvary's Brendan Gleeson at the awards.

Cumberbatch said he was "excited, really excited" to play the Marvel sorcerer without divulging further details.
