"American Pie" singer Don McLean and his wife Patrisha have agreed to dismiss an order of a protection case that followed his arrest on a domestic violence charge.
The order was initially requested by Patrisha following the singer's arrest on January 18 as she said she feared for her life, court records show, reported Digital Spy.
Don's lawyer has since said that the couple has "agreed to move forward" and drop the protection order case, adding: "Neither party is seeking divorce. This now becomes a private matter."

The singer still faces criminal charges of domestic violence with a court date set for late in February.
In a statement released earlier this week, Don stressed that he was "not a villain".
"This last year and especially now have been hard emotional times for my wife, my children and me," he wrote.
"What is occurring is the very painful breakdown of an almost 30-year relationship. Our hearts are broken and we must carry on. There are no winners or losers."
Patrisha also released a statement, saying: "Don has a big heart. He and I had many happy times in the 30 years of our marriage and what has recently transpired is unfortunate for all of us.
