Dow, S&P, Nasdaq end at record highs; auto, airline shares

Airline and automotive equities were among the big gainers today as all three major US stock indices finished at records for the second straight session.

At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 22,642.70, up 0.4 per cent.

The broad-based S&P 500 gained 0.2 per cent to 2,534.68, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 0.2 per cent to 6,532.07.
