The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two persons and seized 579 kgs of cannabis valued at around Rs 58 lakh from them.
Based on specific intelligence that prohibited narcotic drugs were being illegally transported, the officers of DRI Hyderabad zonal unit launched an operation and intercepted a lorry near L B Nagar here on the night of July 9 and found 579 kgs of cannabis valued at around Rs 58 lakh, said a DRI release today.
The seized drug was found in 278 packets which were concealed in the hidden cavity created in the lorry with false flooring.

"Two persons including the driver have been apprehended while the lorry carrying the contraband was seized," the release added.
Further investigation in the case is on.
