Drinking water manufacturers in Coimbatore too join strike

The Coimbatore region packaged drinking water manufacturers association Wednesday stopped production and joined the ongoing indefinite stir by their counterparts in greater Tamil Nadu protesting restrictions on ground water extraction.

The region comprises the districts of Erode, Tirupur and Nilgiris apart from Coimbatore, a release here said.

The Greater Tamil Nadu Packaged drinking water association have closed their units since Tuesday while the tanker lorry water association has been on strike from Monday.
