Drug tablets smuggled from Myanmar seized

Security forces have seized illegal drug tablets, suspected to be Methamphetamine, from here, the police said today.
The 10,689 drug tablets smuggled across the international border of Myanmar were seized by the personnel of the police and the BSF last evening.
One Myanmarese national, Lalsawmliana, was arrested in this connection and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
State excise and narcotics department officials said Methamphetamine tablets were clandestinely manufactured in mobile laboratories in Myanmar and the main precursor for manufacture of the drug pseudoephedrine, legally manufactured in large quantity in India.
