Drugs worth Rs 30 lakh seized, one held

The BSF today arrested a person and seized opium milk worth Rs 30 lakh from his jeep at a checkpoint under the Gharsana Police Station area here, an officer said.

Balaram Bishnoi from Sriganganagar district was arrested with 5.9 kg of opium milk. The packets containing the contraband were found inside his vehicle, BSF DIG Ravi Gandhi said.

Acting on a tip off that narcotic substance was being smuggled, BSF officers nabbed the accused at the check point, he said.

The matter is being investigated, the officer said.
