Drunken brawl claims life of Odisha youth

A 24-year old worker from Odisha died after he was attacked by one of his friends in a drunken brawl near here today, police said.

Ten youths, working at a granite factory in Thevur, were staying together in a company accommodation. Last evening, a fight erupted between some of them after they had liquor.

In a fit of rage, one of them allegedly hit Neela Mathome with a wooden log. He suffered head injuries.

They rushed him to a nearby hospital stating that he had a fall under the influence of liquor, but doctors declared him brought dead.

Police arrested the assailant after investigation.
