E-office launched

With the Mizoram urban development

minister Zodintluanga launching the e-office here today, the department became the first paperless office in the state and the second one in the Northeast, next only to Tripura.

At a function in his office, Zodintluanga said that e-governance would ensure transparency and help in the combat of corruption in government functioning as also tracking the files, increasing efficiency in governance.

"Minister or any official can give approval and clear the files even while in Delhi or even the US," he said, adding that e-office in the UD and PA department became a reality with coordinated efforts of the state Information and Communication Technology Department and the National Informatics Centre.
 

He expressed the hope that other departments would follow suit.
