EB inspector held on graft charge

An inspector of Tamilnadu Electricity Generation and Distribution Corporation was today arrested for allegedly taking a bribe Rs.6,500 from a retired teacher for providing domestic electricity connection.

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police set up a trap and arrested the Electricity Inspector when he was receiving the chemically treated currency notes from retired head master Anthony Jayapal of Sundaravelpuram here.

He was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
