Election Commission has banned telecast of movies of actors on Doordarshan, who are contesting Lok Sabha polls.
"According to the EC directive, during the period of implementation of model code of conduct, the films of actors contesting polls should not be telecast on Doordarshan", CEO Uttar Pradesh Umesh Sinha said.
He, however, said there was no ban on telecast of their films in cinema halls and private TV channels.
