The Election Commission has issued warning to BJP candidate magician P C Sorcar (Junior) and Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal after expressing displeasure at their replies to showcause notices.
State CEO Sunil Gupta today said the leaders had been issued warning so that there would be no repeat of such incidents.
Gupta also said the EC had received replies of showcause notices issued against state ministers Sabitri Mitra and Anisur Rehaman.
"In both cases we have expressed our displeasure over the replies and have warned them against any such repeat," he said.
When inquired about a section of state government officers, who are acting as election officers, complaining about lack of security, Gupta said, "All steps for ensuring proper security have been taken."
Gupta said the EC had received around 129 complaints from CPI(M), out of which action has been taken in 62 cases.
The Trinamool has lodged 10 complaints, out of which action has been taken in 7 cases while Congress has lodged 29 complains in 20 of which action has been taken, Gupta said.
