Edible oils declines in sluggish trade

Groundnutoil prices declined in an otherwise sluggish Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid good arrivals from producing belts.

Refined palmolein also edged down owing to lower retail buying support.

Meanwhile, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseedoil held steady in the absence of any largescale buying.

In the edible section, groundnutoil slid Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 755 from Friday's closing level of Rs 760 and refined palmolein softened by a Re per 10 kg to Rs 592.

Moving to non-edible section, however, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and Linseed oil closed unchanged at Rs 3,950 per 100 kg, 820 per 10 kg and Rs 760 per 10 kg respectively.
