Groundnut oil prices weakened further in an otherwise listless oils and oilseeds market here today due to reduced demand from stockist and retailers.

Refined palmolein also slipped following lack of demand from retailers on the back of bearish Malaysian cues.

While, in the non-edible segment, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

In the futures market, castorseeds for December eased owing to subdued export enquiries.

In the edible section, groundnutoil dropped by Rs 10 per 10kg to Rs 850 from Friday's closing level of Rs 860. Refined palmolein also went-down by Rs 3 per 10kg to Rs 600 as compared to Rs 603 previously.

Turning to futures, castorseed December contract opened lower at Rs 3,750 and drifted further to Rs 3,735 before finishing at Rs 3,745 from Rs 3,753 previously, showing a marginal fall of Rs 8 per tonne.

Moving to non-edible segment, Castorseed bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil all closed unchanged at Rs 3,500 per 100kg, Rs 730 and Rs 810 per 10kg, respectively.
