Equipped with colourful and smart classrooms for nursery sections, activity hall and other facilities, EDMC's first English-medium model school was inaugurated by Lok Sabha member and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari here today.
The model nursery and primary school was opened at Kaushik Puri in Geeta Colony in east Delhi.
"Those who adapt to changing times go far in life. The same is the case with accepting English language as a medium for education. I am happy to see the corporation accepting its importance in building student's career," Tiwari said.

However, accepting one language does not necessarily mean discarding and demeaning one's native tongue, he said.
East Delhi Municipal Corporation's Standing Committee chairman Jeetendra Chaudhary said the school has special features such as colourful and smart classrooms for nursery, activity hall, play station and toys for students, vermicompost system for garden, besides other facilities.
"In this school, education on environment and yoga would also be provided to students," he said, adding, every EDMC ward would get a English-medium model school.
East Delhi MP Maheish Girri said all children have equal right to receive the best of education and development of this English-medium school is a step in that direction.
Leader of House in EDMC Sanjay Jain said opening more such schools would be on the agenda of the civic body.
"EDMC has taken many initiatives in education sector such as computer-aided learning, imparting moral education and now teaching through English medium," he said.
