Eight poachers were arrested
today from Baghmari Chapori in Biswanath Chariali district during a special operation, the police said.
The poachers were suspected to have links with a case of arms recovery on March 21 last under Jinjia police station and poaching, according to officer in-charge B I Mazumdar.
The arrested poachers were identified as Furkan Ali, Mujamil Haque, Sur Haque ,Saddam Hussain, Nur Haque, Inul Haque , Abdul Salam and Abdul Hakim, the OC said adding, their interrogation was on.
