An elderly couple was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Gomti Nagar area, police said today.
The bodies of R N Mehra, 61, a retired bank cashier, and his 58-year-old wife Lata, labour enforcement officer posted in Barabanki, were found inside their Vipul Khand residence last night, they said.
Police said the bodies have multiple stab wounds.
The incident came to fore when the couple's daughter Gunjan, who lives in Delhi, failed to contact Mehra and alerted her relative Rakesh Khatri.
Though prima facie it appeared to a case of robbery and murder, police said the motive was not clear.
