Elderly couple shot dead in UP

An elderly couple was today shot dead allegedly by unidentified men in Kotwali area of Auraiya district, a police spokesman said here.

Mangal Singh (80) and his wife Genda Devi (75) were shot dead by unidentified persons at their residence in Kyotra village when other family members were not at home, he said.

The motive behind the murder is not clear, the spokesperson said, adding a case has been lodged and the matter is being investigated.
