A 62-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his friend's son here, police said today.
Tatya Nikam was thrashed by the accused Dattu Waghmare (23) in the wee hours of Friday when he had gone to the latter's residence in Tikujini Wadi area for dinner, Kapurbawdi police station sub-inspector S B Nikam told PTI.
After dinner, an altercation broke out between Nikam and Waghmare as he refused to go home, he said, adding, following which, Waghmare hit him with a wooden plank, which resulted into his death, the SI said.
A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC has been registered and no arrests have bee made so far, police said, adding a probe is underway.
