Elderly woman killed by neighbour

A 60-year-old woman was killed allegedly by her neighbour who was angry with the victim for reported abusing his mother, police said today.

The accused, Rohit Tayde, has been arrested and charged with murder which took place in Dombivili, said Thane Police PRO Sukhada Narkar.

The woman, who used to take tuitions, lived alone. She was attacked by the 22-year-old accused with a hard object on Saturday and left to die in her house, Narkar said.

The murder came to light yesterday morning.

According to police, the victim had reportedly abused the mother of the accused and this had angered him. As a result, he attacked the elderly woman.
