Elephant calf found dead

An elephant calf, ailing for the last one month, died today in Assam's Goalpara district, forest officials said.

The calf was suffering from an eye infection and died a natural death at Rangagora area of Pancharatna Hills, they said.

Veterinarians have gone to the spot to conduct the postmortem, the officials added.
