Elephant tramples 61-year-old man to death

A 61-year-old man was today trampled to death by an elephant near Pandalur, some 80 km from here.

The elephant attacked the man and his wife while they were walking through an estate this afternoon, police said.

The woman ran to safety while the man was trampled to death.

Estate workers chased the pachyderm into the jungle.
