Engine collides with coaches

The platform and the last coach of the Kanyakumari-Bangalore express train was today damaged, when the engine, being attached to the coaches at the railway station here, collided with the coaches.

Officials said the coaches had been already stationed at the platform and awaiting the attachment of the engine.

The engine driver had not slowed down the engine while driving in reverse for attachment to the coaches,and banged against the coaches, officials said.

No one was injured in the accident, they added.
