Engineer, two others held on bribe charges

A woman engineer and two other government employees were today caught while allegedly accepting bribes in two separate cases in Rajasthan, an official said.

Junior Engineer Richa Verma of Ajmer Electricity Distribution Corporation's Sikar office and her helper were trapped by a team of Anti-Corruption Bureau in their office in Sikar, IG ACB Smita Srivastava said.

Verma had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for issuing electricity connection for a private hospital, Srivastava said, adding, after verification a trap was laid and both the helper and the engineer were arrested.

In another case in Alwar, revenue official Ramkishan Meena was trapped while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 300 from a local resident for entering information related to his land in revenue records. Meena has been arrested.
