Press Trust of India New Delhi
Pearson India today said its computer-based test of English proficiency -- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic -- will be accepted by Engineers Australia from November 1 for migration skills assessment purposes.

PTE Academic is approved by all Australian visa application categories, and will be able to assist employers in Australia with recruiting engineers from India to their workforce, a company release said.

"We have seen an upsurge amongst English test takers for PTE Academic as it is a completely online testing system, hence extremely convenient and delivers results faster," Pearson India Managing Director Vikas Singh said.

PTE Academic is delivered through a global network of over 200 test centres, including 16 spread across India. It is accepted by all Australian universities and most professional associations.

Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Ltd has signed a pact with PNP Maritime Services Private Ltd to reopen Maritime link between JNPT and Dharamtar Port in Maharashtra.

"Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Pvt Ltd (BMCT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PNP Maritime Services Private Ltd (PNP)...to handle a regular container barge service between Dharamtar Port and the terminal from the end of 2017," Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals said in a statement.

The barge service to Dharamtar was a mainstay for cargo owners in the area until the lack of port capacity at JNPT forced its closure in 2012.

"With the opening of BMCT at the end of 2017, PNP will restart a daily barge service between BMCT and their facility in Dharamtar," the company said.
