Maharashtra minister Eknath Shinde
on Wednesday directed authorities in his home district of Thane to be extra cautious before discharging COVID-19 patients from hospitals after their recovery.
Citing growing number of cases in the city and the district neighbouring Mumbai, the guardian minister said extra care should be taken before discharging such patients as many cases were traced to congested areas and slum clusters.
He also referred to recent directives given by the state Health department on discharging such patients.
